The MX130 is just a rebranded Maxwell-based GeForce 940MX. It was released in November 2017 for use in medium-sized laptops. The MX150 is a Pascal-based successor to the previous generations 940M/930M GPUs that were popular in laptops. It is based on the same GP108 GPU chip as the Maxwell-based MX130 but it is manufactured in 14 nm process compared to the latter’s 28 nm using the newer Pascal architecture. Therefore, it is expected to be more efficient than the MX130. The MX150 is also the official successor to the GeForce 940 MX.

Both graphics cards are not suitable for 1080p gaming, however, they are able to run less demanding games at high settings in low resolutions.
